KIRSTY EAGAR

Kirsty Eagar grew up on a central Queensland cattle property with her mum, spending school holidays at the beach with her dad. After completing a Masters degree in Economic Studies, she worked on trading desks at the Reserve Bank of Australia in Sydney, and the Bank of England in London, before changing careers. She surfed her way around Europe and Australia, started a personal training business and began writing fiction.

Raw Blue  Saltwater Vampires

Her debut novel, Raw Blue, was published in 2009, and is the story of a surfer recovering from the traumatic events of schoolies week two years earlier. Raw Blue was selected as one of the Australian Book Review’s Best Books of 2009: Critics’ Choices. The Canberra Times described it as ‘… an emotionally rich and powerful first novel.’ Kirsty’s next novel, Saltwater Vampires, a gothic surf thriller, is due out in August 2010. She lives with her family on Sydney’s northern beaches and surfs every day.
